A shock in Sweden upon the death of the diplomats was interrogated to spy
Sweden Foreign Minister talked about the sadness among her colleagues after it appeared that the diplomat who was interrogated this week on suspicion of his conversion was dead.
The man, who was described by a high -ranking diplomat, was arrested by the Sweden Intelligence Service on Sunday and was released on Wednesday. He denied that violations were committed, although the prosecutors said he remained at doubt.
Foreign Minister Maria Malar Strengard issued a statement saying that her ideas were with the family of diplomats, friends and colleagues and said it was a difficult day.
She said she could not go into more details about the case. Police said that there are no suspicious conditions surrounding death.
Former Foreign Minister Karl Bilde described the “deadly dead ambassador” as very talented and efficient, who worked in various roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Swedish reports stated that he spent long periods of time conducted outside Europe, the last of which was an ambassador. He asked to confirm whether the man who died is an ambassador, his lawyer Anton Strand said he had no comment.
Pictures of the door to the diplomatic apartment on Swedish TV showed that he was forced open at the time of his arrest.
The diplomats had requested a medical treatment for injuries and submitted a report claiming to use excessive force at the time. Säpo said that the arrest was peaceful.
“It has been confirmed that his official report on ill -treatment had reached the Special Investigation Unit. The investigation began with this,” Mr. Strand said in a BBC statement.
Unconfirmed reports from the SVT public broadcaster indicated that Säpo was investigating a possible sudden resignation to the new national security advisor, Tobias Thebberg, who left hours after one day after he took this role.
Hours before his resignation, his sensitive photos were sent to the GRINDR application unknown to the government.
Mr. Strand did not provide any comment on this, but he said that he had received the news of the death of his client early on Friday and his ideas were with his family.
The Public Prosecutor for each Lindkvist told Swedish television that the death was very painful and that the preliminary investigation into the suspected spy was not completed.
Swedish reports stated that the man was in his fifties and returned to his home in the center of Stockholm temporarily after a long time abroad.
