ChatGPT and Sora dropped for the second time this month

The ChatGPT, Sora, and OpenAI developer API was down on Thursday for more than four hours. OpenAI says it began experiencing a major outage at 11am PT, but now says its services are slowly coming back online as of 3:16pm PT. The company says it is actively working on a complete overhaul of ChatGPT and its API.

This is the second time the OpenAI suite of services has been down during the month of December. When this happened two weeks ago, OpenAI He blamed the outage on a new telemetry service that went awry. This outage lasted for approximately 6 hours, which is an unusually long outage. Typically, these outages only last for an hour or two.
