Reports say that fifteen people were killed in crushing
I left crushing at the New Delhi railway station at least 15 people and 10 injuries.
Dr. Reto Saxina, Deputy Medical Supervisor at Luke Nayak Hospital in New Delhi, confirmed the numbers to the Indian BBC after thousands of people were crammed at the railway station on Saturday evening.
Reuters reported that three of the dead were children, while 10 women were.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his ideas “with all those who lost their loved ones” in a post on X.
The Indian BBC eyewitnesses told the “huge crowd” that gathered at the station, where many people were traveling to and from the Hindu religious festival, Compe Milla.
Ruby Devi said the crowd at the main railway station in the Indian capital was so great that he was unable to enter inside.
Another person said that the policemen were doing their job “but the crowd has become too much.”
Inside the station, according to officials, two trains were delayed, while he was third – heading to Prayagraj, where Kumbh Mela is held – waiting for departure.
“There were much larger than I saw at this station,” said Darndra Singh, who was hoping to travel to the Sulagaraj, PTI news agency in India.
“In front of me, six or seven women have been transferred to coins.”
“The situation is out of controlling a short wave of 10 to 15 minutes due to overcrowding.”
The Indian railway had initially refused to talk about a stampede as “rumors”, according to Reuters, but confirmed that an unknown number of people had been injured and taken to the hospital.
The Crush comes weeks after dozens of killing in the pre -dawn crushing at the Kumbh Mela Festival in Northern India, where tens of millions of Hindus gathered to take water in the waters of the holy river in the most meter day at a six -week festival.
