Sony-Honda’s Afeela EV will start at $89,900
Sony has been rolling out details of the Afeela brand it launched with Honda ever since EV revealed In 2023. But it held up one big detail — until today.
Pricing for the four-door Afeela EV will start at $89,900, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida announced Monday at CES 2025. The Sony-Honda brand will also offer a higher-end – and therefore more expensive – model that starts at $102,900.
Both versions of Afeela will include a free three-year subscription for some functions and features. The company also announced that it has opened reservations for the Afeela EV. Customers in California can make a reservation for a refundable fee of $200.
The Avila is an all-electric four-door sedan that aims to combine the reliability and manufacturing prowess of Honda with all the infotainment and software capabilities of entertainment technology company Sony. in Early concept Shown on TechCrunch in 2023, the car had a cinema-like display, plush seats, and yoke-like steering wheels. There were other odd details that resembled the concept – or lacked it – such as the lack of door handles.
The production version will likely be less edgy and more realistic. For example, door handles of some sort. But the interaction between software and hardware, such as sensors and displays, will play a starring role. More details about the Afeela are expected to be released on Tuesday during a separate press conference at CES.
