UK Ambassador to the UK says the world order “our destruction”
The UK’s ambassador to the United Kingdom said the United States “destroying” the world in force.
In criticism of the new Trump administration’s way to deal with foreign policy, Valerie Zaluzni said that the White House “questioned the unity of the entire Western world.”
His comments come amid a clear cooling of tensions between Ukraine President Voludmir Zelinsky and his American counterpart Donald Trump, after the fans falling between the two in the Oval Office on Friday.
KYIV made attempts to reform relations with Washington in recent days, after the United States stopped helping its military to Ukraine and intelligence participation in an attempt to bring Zelensky to the negotiating table.
But the statements of Mr. Zaluzhnyi at a conference at Chatham House in London on Thursday indicate that there is still discontent with the actions of the United States.
He told the public: “We see not only the focus of evil and Russia is trying to review the global order, but the United States finally destroys this.”
The Ukrainian envoy added that the talks between the United States and Russia – which were “headed by the war criminal” in President Vladimir Putin – showed that the White House was taking “steps towards the Kremlin, in an attempt to meet them in the middle of the road.”
Mr. Zaluzni, who assumed the position of Kiev’s ambassador in London in 2024 after three years as a great commander of the Ukrainian armed forces, suggested that NATO may stop being as a result of Washington’s change in the situation, and warned that Moscow’s next goal “could be Europe.”
While Zelinski expressed her desire to quickly bring the war in Ukraine, Kiev expressed her concerns about dealing with the Trump administration of conversations and privileges to Moscow, which may be offered without security guarantees to Ukraine.
Trump pledged during the American election campaign to quickly end the war, and the American delegation met a Russian weapon of initial talks in Saudi Arabia last month – without the presence of European or Ukrainian actors.
The US decision to stop its assistance to Ukraine It was thrown by Trump administration officials as a way to get Kyiv for cooperation With the US -led peace talks.
Zaluzni said that the stopping of intelligence exchange, in addition to a previous decision to oppose the United Nations decision condemning the Russian aggression in Ukraine, was a “major challenge for the whole world.”
His comments come at a time when Politico states that members of the Trump team had discussions with some Zelinski’s political opponents, after Trump’s allies suggested that the Ukrainian president should stand aside.
Quoted from unnamed sources in the United States and Ukraine, the talks were held with opposition leader Yulia Timoshenko and senior members of Petro Poroshenko, who was previously president.
Independent opinion polls in Ukraine indicate that Zaluzhnyi has general support with at least 70 %, and Zelensky has 57 % support and Buroshenko about 20 %. Tymoshenko and Poroshenko have their own red lines and share a supportive position of Europe.
In response to the report, Timoshenko said that her team speaks with “all allies who can help guarantee a fair peace as soon as possible,” noting that the elections cannot be held under the constitution of Ukraine while they are under martial martial rulings.
Poroshenko wrote in a lengthy statement that his party worked “publicly and transparently” with the United States, and that the meetings focused on supporting the war effort of Ukraine.
While the Zelinski government criticizes its political decisions and communications with the United States, he also stressed that the elections can only occur after a ceasefire.
While Politico’s article indicated that the Trump administration may seek a substitute for Zelinski, these meetings seem to be long -term and preceded both war and the last tension of relations with the United States.
