“A group optical incident” after the car pushed a crowd in Canada

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a statement about X that he “was destroyed to hear the horrific events at the Labo Labo Festival in Vancouver.”

He continued: “I offer deepest condolences to the loved ones of those who were killed and wounded, to the Philippine Canadian society, and for everyone in Vancouver. We all get to know you.”

He also thanked the emergency respondents for the “quick work”.

The mayor of Vancouver Ken Sim said that he was “shocked and sorrowed in the terrible accident,” adding that he was “Ideas with all the affected people and with the Filipino Vancouver community during this very difficult time.”

The leaders of the various political parties also shared condolences.

Pierre Puyviri, the leader of the Conservative Party in Canada, described the incident as a “meaningless attack”, while the leader of the new Democratic Party in British Columbia, David Eibi, said he was “shocked and saddened.”

The new Democratic Party leader, Jaghhamit Singh – who attended the festival but was not present when the accident – said he was “terrified when he learned” that the innocent had been killed and injured.

“While we are waiting to find out more, our ideas with the victims and their families – and the Philippine Vancouver community, who were meeting today to celebrate the flexibility,” he added.

Singh, Poiliefre and EBY are all working in the federal elections in Canada on Monday. The Singh Circle lies in Burnbei Central, east, where the accident occurred.
