The United States stops the dates and visa of students and expanded plans on social media examination

The administration of US President Donald Trump has ordered the US embassies around the world to stop schedule for student visas as it is preparing to expand the social media examination of these applicants.
An official memo said that the examination of social media will be escalating for student and external visas, which will have “great effects” on embassies and consulates.
It comes during a large -scale Trump campaign at some elite universities in America. He believes that these institutions are very left-their accused of failing to combat anti-Semitism when the protests supporting Palestinian in universities were revealed.
In response to this step, China called on the United States to protect international students.
“We urge the American team to seriously protect the rights and interests of international students, including those from China,” an official was quoted as saying. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese students attend American universities.
The universities themselves are likely to be exposed to distress. Many of them rely on foreign students to get a large part of their financing – because these scientists often pay higher academic fees.
Foreign students who want to study in the United States are usually required to schedule interviews at an American embassy in their home country before approval.
“We are taking seriously an examination of who comes to the country, and we will continue to do so,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Tami Bruce told reporters on Tuesday.

The memorandum, which is seen by the American BBC partner CBS News, directed the American embassies to remove any unpaid dates from their calendars for students looking for visas, but they said that those who have dates are already able to go forward.
Foreign Minister Marco Rubio wrote that the temporary suspension will continue “until more guidance is issued.”
The memorandum also said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was preparing to “expand the required social media examination and research” applied to all student visa requests.
He did not explain what the examination will be searched.
The Trump administration has already strengthened its examination of the social media for students, according to a report issued by the Guardian in March, which linked the transition to a broader campaign on the pro -Palestinian demonstrations in universities.
In April, the US Department of Internal Security (DHS) stated that it would consider “anti -Semitic activity on social media and the physical harassment of Jewish individuals as reasons for rejecting immigration requests.”
As part of the broader campaign, the Trump team freezed hundreds of millions of dollars as universities financing and moved to the deportation of students, while canceling thousands of visas to others. Many of these procedures have been banned by the courts.
The White House accused some American universities of allowing the kidnapping of pro -Palestinians activity on the campus due to anti -Semitism.
Universities accused the Trump administration of trying to violate freedom of expression. Critics say that the new social media examination policy is an additional violation of the rights that are supposed to be dedicated through the first amendment to the United States constitution.
Trump has responded throughout his presidency as working to defend freedom of expression.
Harvard University was the central point in the anger of the president. He froze $ 2.65 billion (1.96 billion pounds) in the Federal grants of the Foundation and sought to develop another federal financing worth $ 100 million in review.
The university president said that the discounts will “harm” the country, not only at Harvard University, because the government was conducting research that is considered “high priority” by the government.
Last week, Trump also canceled Harvard’s ability to register international students or host foreign researchers. The federal judge banned politics.
If this procedure is finally allowed, it may provide a devastating blow to the university, as it is more than a quarter of students from abroad. Students protested this step on the university campus near Boston on Tuesday.
