King is deeply saddened by the death of Briton Edward Pettyfer

King Charles is deeply saddened by the death of a British man who was killed in a car attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, palace sources said.
Edward Pettyfer, 31, who was among 14 people killed in the attack, is believed to be the stepson of Alexandra Pettyfer, known as Tiggy, who looked after Prince William and Prince Harry when they were children.
Palace sources told the BBC that the king had been in contact with Pettyfer’s family to offer his personal condolences.
In a tribute, Pettyfer’s family described him as “a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend to many.”
The attack on January 1 saw a 42-year-old US Army veteran driving a pickup truck into crowds along New Orleans’ famous Bourbon Street before being shot dead by police.
The New Orleans coroner listed Mr. Pettyfer’s preliminary cause of death as “blunt force injuries,” the PA said.
Kensington Palace said the Prince of Wales had learned of Mr Pettyfer’s death.
Prince Harry will not comment publicly on the news.

Some of the injured have been discharged from hospital, but more than a dozen people remain, some of whom are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
