Munguia vs. The Sauras game is scheduled for April 12
Jaime Munguia will reportedly fight his former conqueror Bruno Suras in a rematch on April 12 in Tijuana, Mexico.
WBO junior middleweight champion Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) is hoping to avenge his humiliating sixth-round knockout loss to Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs) from last month on December 14 in front of his hometown crowd in Tijuana.
Cobra strike
Munguia, 28, was sloppy in the sixth round and fell to a right hand from a cobra-like Sauras. The shot sent Munguia face down on the canvas.
Jaime was back on his feet after getting back up, and referee Juan Jose Ramírez stopped him rather than allow him to take a second blow from the Frenchman.
Labonita_delboxeo Reports News of the rematch between Munguia and Surace on his Instagram channel.
It’s questionable whether it’s a good idea for Munguia to participate in a rematch with Surace because this guy might have his number. Earlier in the fight, Jaime dropped him with a left hook to the head.
However, Soras stunned Munguia moments later with a cobra-like right hand to his head. Munguia handled it well, but that shot was identical to the right hand he dropped him with later in the fight in the sixth round.
The way the fight has been going since the second round, it’s stupid for Munguia to win a rematch with Sauras. He is very dangerous with his right hand. In the rematch, he will do the same thing he did last time, but the knockout will likely come early because Jaime’s resistance to punches will be weakened.
Perhaps Munguia and his team thought it was just a coincidence and that Sorace was lucky. They’ll look stupid when he repeats it, but much faster. Munguia was easy to hit. His 44 wins have been against cabbies, and he has never beaten anyone so well in the last decade.
