RFK JR launches the entire US vaccine committee

US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior, who is suspicious of vaccines, removed all 17 members of a committee to issue official government recommendations on vaccination.

Kennedy announced this move in an opening article in the Wall Street Journal that conflict of interest in the ACIP consulting committee was responsible for undermining confidence in vaccinations.

Kennedy said he wanted to “ensure the American people get the most safe vaccines.”

Doctors and health experts have long criticized Kennedy’s interrogation of the safety and effectiveness of a number of vaccines, although in the Senate confirmation session he “will not take it.”

He said on Monday that he “retires” all members of the ACIP committee. Eight out of 17 puzzles were appointed in January 2025, in the last days of President Biden’s mandate.

Most members practice doctors and experts associated with the main university medical centers.

After the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) agrees to the vaccines based on whether the benefits of the shot outweigh the risk, the ACIP recommends the groups that must be granted the shots and when, which also determines the insurance coverage of the clips.

Noel Brurora, a professor at the Faculty of World Public Health at North Carolina University for Global Public Health that worked in ACIP for a year, called Kennedy’s decision to “break the rules.”

“I was shocked, but I was not surprised,” he told the BBC. “It was very disappointing and more than just annoying.”

Kennedy noted that if the committee members have not removed, President Trump will not be able to appoint a majority in the committee until 2028.

“The committee has been afflicted with constant conflict of interests and became more than just a rubber seal of any vaccine,” Kennedy wrote.

He claimed that health authorities and pharmaceutical companies were responsible for the “general confidence crisis” that some are trying to explain “by blame the wrong information or the anti -science positions.”

In the opening article, Kennedy was martyred with examples of the nineties and the Finnas and claimed that conflicts of interest are still continuing.

“Most members of ACIP have received great funding from pharmaceutical companies, including marketing vaccines,” wrote in the Wall Street Journal:

ACIP members are required to disclose conflict of interests, which are Posted onlineAnd to restore themselves from voting on decisions in which it may be a conflict.

Dr. Brewer said that the committee “one of the most conflicting interest procedures in any federal committee.”

Paul Ofit, a former member of the Checks Education Center at the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, said that members have a wide range of vaccine experience, and they have reviewed and discussed vaccine data accurately to make the best decisions for the public.

In his opening article, Kennedy said, “The problem is not necessarily that ACIP members are corrupt.”

“The problem is their indulgence in the system of incentives and industrial alignment models that impose a narrow Orthodox technology,” he claimed.

Dr. Bruce Scott, President of the American Medical Association, a professional organization for American doctors, said that the privileges that attach “increase a transparent process that saved an endless life.”

“With the decrease in the rate of continuous measles and routine vaccination rates for children, this step will increase the spread of vaccine diseases that can escape,” Dr. Scott said in a statement.

Kennedy’s step appears to be a violation of the assurances he presented during confirmation sessions. Bill Cassidy, Republican Senator from Louisiana, a doctor, also said that he had received obligations from the Minister of Health that ACIP would be preserved “without changes.”

On Monday, Cassidy wrote on X: “Of course, and now fear is that ACIP is filled with people who do not know anything about vaccines except for doubt.

“I just spoken to Minister Kennedy, and I will continue to talk to him to make sure that this is not the case.”

Public health experts share Cassidy’s concerns that Kennedy may appoint the vaccines ’admission to the board of directors.

Peter Lori, a former FDA official (FDA) said that such alternatives mean that some vaccines “will not be recommended at all” and cannot be other effective clips “can be refundable by insurance companies.”

“As a result, we will see other decreases in vaccination rates, then a return to diseases that could have been prevented,” he said.

Kennedy did not say who would help him to replace the members of the Board of Directors. Dr. Ofit, who said he heard from at least two people, said Kennedy.

Dr. Ofit said: “His complete concept of radical transparency – this is the opposite.” “This is a man who makes a decision behind closed doors.”

ACIP has a meeting that is scheduled to start on June 25, where the members are scheduled to vote on recommendations of Covid vaccines, influenza, meningococci diseases, RSV and other diseases.

Dr. Bruer said that ACIP had some of the “best scientists in the world”, adding that the Secretary would have difficulty finding expert caliber again in the short term.

BBC contacted the US Department of Health and Humanitarian Services and ACIP, Dr. Helen Cape Talbot, to comment.
