Sanctions in the UK right -wing Israeli ministers to “incite violence” against the Palestinians

The United Kingdom has imposed two right -wing Israeli ministers on the right on “the frequent incitement of violence against Palestinian societies” in the occupied West Bank.
Itamar ben-GVir and Bezalel Smotrich will be banned from entering the United Kingdom and will receive any assets in the frozen UK as part of the measures announced by the Foreign Minister.
David Lami said that Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Bin Ghaffir “incited extremist violence and serious violations of Palestinian human rights.”
In response, Israel said: “It is outrageous for elected representatives and government members to undergo this type of measure.”
Smotrich and Ben-GVIR were also criticized for their position on the war in Gaza. Both ministers oppose allowing assistance in Gaza and called for the resettlement of the Palestinians outside the region.
“As Palestinian societies continue in the West Bank in suffering from severe violence by Israeli extremist settlers who also undermine a future Palestinian state, the United Kingdom joined Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Norway in intensifying the international response.”
After announcing the sanctions, Lammy said: “These measures are unacceptable. That is why we have taken measures now – to carry those responsible for the account.
“We will strive to achieve the immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which is the immediate release of the remaining hostages by Hamas, which cannot have a future role in the governance of Gaza, an increase in aid and a way to resolve the state.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon said that the cabinet will meet next week to respond to what he called “an unacceptable decision.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that “besides the partners Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Norway, it is clear that the increasing violence and intimidation by Israeli settlers against Palestinian societies in the West Bank must stop.”
In a statement, he said that the measures taken against Smotrich and Ben-Gvir “cannot be seen in isolation from the events in Gaza, where Israel must support international humanitarian law.”
Ministers lead the extremist parties in the ruling coalition, which carries a majority of eight seats in Parliament. The support of the Ben-Gvir Otzma Yehudit (Jewish force), which operates six seats, and the Smotrich religious Zionist Party, which holds seven seats, is very important to the government’s survival.
Speaking at the opening of a new settlement in the West Bank, Sogrish said he felt a “contempt” towards the UK step.
“Britain has already tried to prevent us from settling the cradle of our homeland, and we cannot do this again,” he said. “We are designers, willing to continue to build.”
The minister was hinting at the period when Britain was governing Palestine and imposed restrictions on Jewish immigration, and most importantly, from the late thirties to the late 1940s.
Israel has built about 160 settlements of about 700,000 Jews since it occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem in the Middle East war in 1967.
The vast majority of the international community considers that the settlements are illegal under international law – a position supported by an advisory opinion in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year – although Israel opposes this.
The possibility of punishment for these two ministers has always been in the pipeline.
In October, Lord Cameron said He planned to punish the husbandWhen the Foreign Minister was from 2023-24, as a way to pressure Israel.
The UK’s decision reflects the increasing popular and parliamentary pressure to take more measures against the Israeli government for its operations in Gaza and the West Bank.
It also comes after a fixed escalation of pressure by the United Kingdom and other allies.
Last month, the leaders of Britain, France and Canada issued a joint statement saying that Israel is at risk of breaking international law.
The UK has also dismantled commercial talks with Israel.
In the rumors last month, Lammy described notes from Smotrich about “cleansing” Gaza of the Palestinians as “brutal” and “dangerous”.

The liberal democratic leader, Sir Ad Davi, also welcomed the sanctions, but said that he was “disappointing” that the conservative government and employment “took a long time to act.”
20 months have passed since Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to an unprecedented attack led by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, where about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others took hostage.
At least 54,927 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health in the region.
