The crowds flow to a free beach party in Brazil

Large crowds are attending a free party Lady Gaga on the Copakapana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian authorities say more than a million people are in this event.

The ceremony is paid by the city in an attempt to revitalize the Rio economy, and they expect to bring 100 million dollars (75 million pounds) to the local economy.

Saturday’s performance is part of a promotional tour of Lady Gaga’s eighth album, Mayhem, whose songs include Abracadabra and Die with a smile.

Some fans – known as “Small Monsters” in Gaga – began to wait early in the morning and waited for long lines to reach the beach.

There is a huge security operation, with 5,000 police officers in the service and attending the attendees through metal detection devices. The authorities also use drones and facial recognition cameras to help the event police.

Lady Gaga is not the first person to play a free party in Rio. Madonna presented a concert on Copacabana Beach in May 2024, which the city also paid.

Many people from all over the country have traveled to watch the concert.

A 28 -year -old man said that he spent all night on a bus from ITANhaEM in the neighboring state of Sao Paulo.

“I cannot wait until Abracadapra sings, it is great to dance to it, like her early things,” he said.

Elisha Duarte, 22, told Agence France Presse that she had started waiting at 0740 am. “Lady Gaga deserves it! You will be very crowded, but we will survive,” she said.

Another fan, Paulo Olivira, explained the reason for people’s enthusiasm for the concert. “We tell us that we can be of us, and be different and be a wonderful different,” he told Reuters.

Lay Borges, the ceremony to Reuters, said he would be “an unforgettable offer.” “You will be emotional and I will cry a lot,” she said.
