The former adviser to Austria wins the appeal against the condemnation of the right

Former Austria advisor Sebastian Corses won his appeal against his conviction by giving a false certificate to the parliamentary committee.

The court ruling is sentenced last year and the prison sentence for eight months in prison for the former political star.

After praising the conservative conservatives in Europe, the 38 -year -old resigned as a consultant in 2021 and stopped politics amid a series of allegations.

On Monday’s acquittal removes a major obstacle to a possible political return, but it still faces an investigation into the allegations of separate corruption.

Last year, Kors was convicted on charges of perjury to give a false certificate to the parliamentary committee.

The case was focused against him on allegations that he participated in the selection of the executives of a newly created holding company when he was a consultant, instead of only being aware.

Kors told a parliamentary investigation in 2020 that he was “involved in the meaning of the enlightened.” But the first trial judge considered that the announcement was a liar and decided that Corses played a more active role.

But in his appeal, Corse argued that the judge who condemned him was biased.

The appeal seat of three judges ruled in his favor on Monday, and a reading in their ruling that Corses “was acquitted because the objective crime of providing wrong evidence was not fulfilled.”

Speaking to reporters outside the court on Monday, Corse said that the years of charges were “now collapsing.”

“There were many court sessions – a great deal of confrontation with these accusations. I all saw how much this has been celebrated and that it had collapsed now,” he said.

He has also denied violations regarding the investigative allegations of corruption.

The prosecutors have not yet decided whether a fee will be imposed on the allegations that he used public funds to pay for favorable media coverage and to finance opinion polls that exaggerate his support.

Kors has not publicly expressed the intention of returning to politics yet.

Since he resigned in 2021, he participated in many commercial projects, including high -level Cybsecurity, which he participated in establishing in 2023 with partners including the former NSO president in Israel, which has developed The controversial Pegasus Spyware product.

Kors had previously presided over the conservative Austrian People’s Party, as it led the party to victories in 2017 and 2019 in a strict migration position.

The People’s Party is still responsible in Austria after it managed to form an alliance of three parties with social democrats and the liberal party after the elections last August.

However, this vote was won by the far -right Freedom Party, which seized voters in the economy and immigration. Although the parliamentary elections are topped for the first time, they failed to form the government.
