Civilians celebrate regional gains in the army, from the presidential palace to the airport in the capital, Khartoum

The Sudanese army told the BBC that it recovered the airport in the capital, Khartoum, from the semi -military RSF, which represents its latest regional gain in the brutal civil war for two years.

General Mohamed Abdel -Rahman Al -Blawi, the leader of the operation in eastern Khartoum, said that the forces had been entitled to them completely and may be able to remove the rest of the RSF fighters by the end of the day.

The army has been moving quickly since the presidential palace was restored on Friday and seized the state institutions that RSF took.

RSF has dominated most of the Khartoum since the war began in April 2023. On the country level, hundreds of thousands were killed, and millions were forced to flee their homes.

Earlier, an army spokesman told the BBC that the forces had seized the Manchia Bridge, the last RSF bridge, along with a military camp in Jabal Olaya, the stronghold of the group in southern Khartum.

He said that the army has now regained all the bridges across the Nile River that connects the three cities that make up a larger circumcision.

The residents have informed this week that RSF fighters were retreating south, apparently towards Jabal Olaya, the only place that they could still cross outside the area.

It seems that the videos posted on social media show that some people in the center of Khartoum celebrate the army’s progress after many described it as a brutal RSF occupation.

Those who are unwilling or unable to leave have constantly reported a mass looting by RSF, whose fighters have seized civilian homes.

Kartoum is one of the countries of the country that the United Nations said that the United Nations was approaching the conditions of starvation, due to the looted markets and restrictions imposed on assistance by both sides.

Rights groups have also documented sexual violence and other violations.

RSF and the army were randomly accused.

Earlier this week, Air Force bombing market An eyewitness said that dozens of civilians were killed.

The army -led government was forced to move to Port Sudan on the Red Sea after RSF took control of the capital early on the war.

Khartoum is a tremendous achievement of the army, which can give it a strategic advantage in the war.

But the war has not ended yet.

RSF still holds almost all Darfur region in western Sudan.

Both sides are supported by the foreign powers that pole the weapons in the country, and international efforts of the mediator have failed.
