The United States to remove Syria, Haya Tirri al -Sham, from the list of foreign terrorist groups
The United States is scheduled to take the Syrian Islamic Group, Haya Tarir al -Sham (HTS) from the list of foreign terrorist organizations on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The group led a rebel attack in December toppled the Assad regime, which ruled Syria for 54 years. Its leader Ahmed Al -Sharra is now the country’s interim president.
HTS, also known as the Al -Nasr Front, was affiliated with a base in Syria in Syria until Al -Sharra cut relations in 2016.
