A man was arrested after three men were injured in a suspected knife attack at Stoneybatter in North Dublin.

Irish police said they were called to a “serious incident” on Sunday afternoon, which Justice Minister Jim Oakhan described it as a “random attack.”

Two men are described as suffering from serious but lifeless injuries, while the third person suffered a less serious injury. Police said that men between the ages of mid -twenties to the mid -1940s were taken to hospital for treatment.

The police said they were continuing to investigate all the circumstances of what happened and added that a number of scenes were still present in the area. The officers said earlier that there were no ongoing risks to the public.
